Presentations that provide
HANG ON FOR THE RIDE!

Life has never been crazier. Just watching the news is enough to make a lot of folks want to duck their head, buckle their seatbelt and reach for the Prozac. The good news is that this humorous, upbeat presentation provides three powerful strategies to help you “Hang on for the Ride!”

You’ve heard that life is like a rollercoaster. The truth is there are three BIG differences between a real rollercoaster, and the “rollercoaster of reality.” On a real rollercoaster you have: 1) a choice about riding; 2) a chance to see what is coming; and 3) very little concern about falling out of the car. (Have you noticed they ‘lock you down’ before the ride takes off?)

The problem is that we’re all racing along on the “rollercoaster of reality,” where we have: 1) no choice in riding; 2) little chance to see what’s coming; and 3) a growing concern about how to “Hang on for the Ride!”  What we’re all needing is a little help in the “hanging on” department and help is on the way.

On the list of things that nearly all Americans still hold dear and near are the three anchor points of: Faith; Family and Freedom. Each has played a major role in shaping America; and collectively, they rank among the most powerful forces on the face of the earth. They’ve also proven to be the mainstays in helping humanity “Hang on for the Ride!”  This is a non-partisan, humorous and sometimes poignant look at humanity’s three greatest “handholds on hope.” You’ll come away with a wider point of view and a greater sense of appreciation for America. It’s a fun, insightful and inspirational trip that will improve your grip on reality and increase your ability to “Hang on for the Ride!”

[Suitable for an opening or closing keynote address; luncheon or dinner presentation; lasting approximately 45 minutes, it is best accompanied with PowerPoint projected photos and slides]

How to Have the Last Word...

Have you ever spent an hour in an old cemetery reading epitaphs? There was a time when folks felt compelled to inscribe a few lines of rhyme and reason on the tombstone of the recently departed. This PowerPoint presentation both visually and audibly shares the mirth and meaning found in epitaphs from around the world. A few are poignant, but most of them are just downright funny.

The program also takes a look at a few fanciful epitaphs that would fit nicely in the funny world in which we live.  (With a little help from “the inside” this program can include some proposed epitaphs, custom fitted, for a few of the more colorful characters inside your own organization.) It's a lot of lighthearted fun, with some fitting words of truth at end.

  I Can See What You’re Saying…

The English people may or may not be funny, but the English language can be a hoot. It’s bad enough when we get in a hurry and write without thinking, but when we try to translate English into a foreign language the results can be hilarious. This PowerPoint presentation takes a fun look at the foibles of both written and nonverbal communication.

In keeping with the idea that people can “see” what you’re saying, we’ll take an informative look at the fascinating subject of body language.  The big surprise will be in learning how some gestures and postures have entirely different meanings in different parts for the world. It’s the kind of communications information that can keep you out of embarrassing situations when you’re doing business in the “global village.”  The program includes interactive exercises and activities that are both fun and informative.
  SUCCESS WITH STRESS

Did you know the American Academy of Family Physicians estimates 60% of the problems brought to physicians in this country are stress-related?  Did you know what's going on in your head could be killing your body?

Since stress is a leading cause of death and disease in America, how can you become a success without becoming a statistic? Where is the person you want to be - - -and can you find that person without losing your mind? Simplistic answers to these questions don't exist, but the methods and means for making a difference do.

This PowerPoint presentation will help you view stress from a new perspective and give you effective strategies for controlling it before it controls you.  As always, there is fun and humor involved; but you’ll learn some things that may save your career, your marriage. . .or your life!
       Board Development
Every Body Needs To Plan A Head

or                                                  ("Things we'd like to fix about the Board")

Have you wondered why some Boards can be so THOROUGH with their work . . .  while other Boards never seem to get THROUGH with their work? Many times the answer is that organizations sometimes forget to invest a little time and effort in the realm of Board Development.

Do you remember what it was like the first time you served on a Board?  Did someone try to “show you the ropes”, or did the veterans make you feel like you were tied up with ropes? Isn't it time for everyone to be reminded of how Boards and Commissions are suppose to function?

This PowerPoint presentation uses a clear, down-to-earth metaphor to help explain the role and function of the Board in the operation of an organization. Depending on the amount of time available, this presentation can stand alone as an hour-long seminar or be incorporated into a workshop lasting up to a full day.  The extended workshop deals with the development of an organizational Mission, Vision and Strategic Planning;” and includes interactive exercises and activities that are as fun as they are informative.
              Mind Mapping

Did you know our culture teaches us to think and record thoughts in a linear manner, but our brains are wired up to think in a radiant manner?  Almost everyone comprehends and memorizes material more easily if it is presented in a visual media.  The Mind Mapping techniques you’ll learn in this session are being utilized daily by international corporations to promote clarity and save millions of dollars. Whether you’re using it to outline a speech, prepare a research paper or plan your future, you’ll be hooked on making these “learning maps” for the rest of your life.
"98% of the participants rated the overall program as Excellent.”

     Dare To Win!

There must be 10,000 techniques for winning, but all of them are based on a precious few principles. This PowerPoint presentation distills the motivational material of the masters into the four critical principles upon which all success depends. You’ll come to learn that these are the principles used by world class athletes, giants of the corporate world and especially those few everyday people who have discovered how to live successful lives.

There’s something more important than just learning these few foundational principles.  What could that be?  It’s the critical key in learning how to REMEMBER and then APPLY THEM! Learning the principles without having them accessible and applicable is like having a new car without an ignition key.  It may look impressive, but it won’t get you far!.

The stories and visual imagery of “Dare To Win!” will impress these principles into your memory in a manner that will stay with you for a lifetime. Ultimately, those who succeed are those who Dare To Win!
      The Power to Choose

There are times when a short but powerful message can make a difference. Baccalaureate and graduations ceremonies are two times when the message is usually forgotten before the ceremony ends; but that’s not the case with this speech.  This presentation is designed for occasions where anything over 15 to 20 minutes is a lost cause. It’s guaranteed to grab the audience and take them rapidly and powerfully to the point of realizing that every person has “The Power to choose!”

American patriots shed their life’s blood in order to purchase for us the incomparable freedom to choose our future.  By the same token, we have to accept that where we find ourselves is dependent upon where our choices have taken us! Where do you want to be 10 years from now?  That’s right; you have The Power to choose!

In short order each member of the audience is challenged to reconsider their personal worth when they’re asked to put a price on their American citizenship; their ability to walk; to see or to speak.  Culminating with a dramatic recitation of what must be the most beloved poem ever written by Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken  This is the memorable way to mark your special occasion.

The world is a tough place, and it takes both mental and physical effort to stay "right side up."  This has proven to be a fun, interactive session that uses a clever technique to remind everyone of the key principles involved in maintaining mental and physical health. More importantly, it shows us how to take responsibility for successful relationships both at home and at work.

You can't "make" people have a better attitude, (or make them go to bed early for that matter!), but you CAN help them recognize the techniques that make life and work more enjoyable. One of the major components of this particular seminar is the challenge to "find some fun" and report back to the group. A spoonfull of humor helps the medicine go down...

When the world turns you upside-down, you need to know how to get your "sunny side up."
